Spirit AeroSystems was established in 2005 when Onex Corporation acquired what is now Spirit AeroSystems from Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The company's headquarters are in Wichita, Kan., the Air Capital of the World. Additional operations are in Tulsa and McAlester, Okla.; Prestwick, Scotland, and Samlesbury, England; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
