NEW QUALITY MANAGER AT SWMF EXETER
On March 2nd Eric Rake joined the team at South West Metal Finishing as the new Quality Manager. Eric comes from a strong background in Aerospace Quality having worked for Agusta Westland (UK) for 20 years as a principal process assurance engineer and latterly Claverham for 2 years as an Auditor. During his years at Westlands he acted as an auditor to approve sub-contractors for special processes on Agusta Westland contracts, covering areas such as Non Destructive Testing, Surface Treatments, Painting, Heat Treatment , Surface Improvement and Composite Bonding. Whilst at Claverham Eric gained further experience as an internal auditor and acted as the main quality contact there when being audited by external auditors. Eric is fully versed in all NADCAP and AS9100 requirements and has good techical knowledge of the processes carried out at Exeter.
Eric has overall responsibility for Quality at South West Metal Finishing and will be our main customer contact for audits and quality related queries. Jim Parker is still involved in Quality at Exeter and is currently supporing Eric in becoming familiar with the role.
