EIC Group take 3rd Position in the 20th Michelmores Annual Yacht Race 2010
The annual corporate yacht race organised by Michelmores Solicitors around Torbay was won by the Met Office crew sailing in 'Peanut' and they were closely followed by Barclays Corporate in 'Sanguma' and EIC (Exeter) Limited sailing in 'Joker'.
This was the 20th race staged by Michelmores and culminated in a post race party and prize-giving at Brixham Yacht Club where organiser and Senior Partner Will Michelmores said:
"I'd like to thank all the captains and crews for competing in this landmark Michelmores Challenge Cup - the 20th time we have staged this event and we are very proud that it is now firmly established as a great event in the South West Yachting calendar.
"Over two decades, it has generated many stories, possibly legends, great feats of seamanship and some horrendous gaffes and we have been joined by a huge range of businesses from across the region and beyond sailing an amazing array of boats and carrying hundreds if not thousands of crew."
The 2010 event attracted 32 yachts at the start each making a contribution to the UK Sailing Academy, the charity to changing lives through personal development and maritime education.
